After many years as an art teacher I recognised that I was looking for a new adventure that challenged me while still allowing me to be my creative self.

I am a life long lover of all things creative, that includes Floral Design. Flowers have the power to make us feel brighter and lift our mood. I have always adored flowers, especially when they are arranged in dramatic and unique ways. I love a design with a classic feel, but with a sense of movement, emotive colour and texture combinations with those all important star moments.

Since starting Vanilla Ruffles Floral Design I have poured my skills and creativity into designing and creating floral designs inspired by my passions. Passions such as the arts in all its forms, and history.  I often find inspiration in the past, I love it when old and new ideas collide.

I do find working with flowers both calming yet challenging in equal measure, and working with nature is just wonderful for the spirit.

It really is a privilege to share my work with others.

I have trained as a floral designer since 2017 at Birmingham Botanical Gardens and more recently, with other designers, such as Sabine Darral,  Claire Bond and Hanna Mulcahy.

I am very much aware that the choices I make in terms of materials and processes can benefit the planet. I always hold this in mind.

I live in Kingsheath, Birmingham, where I live with my partner, three children and dog Murray.
